Oxygen (O₂) Nanobubbles: Billions of stable molecular oxygen delivered via patented nanobubble technology. Conducted in collaboration with North Carolina State University and a board-certified dermatologist and nano-physicist, this study examined human skin biopsies collected before treatment and at 30- and 60-minute intervals following topical application of AO2 SKIN oxygen nanobubbles.

HOW OXYGEN WAS MEASURED

Your Skin Has It's Own Oxygen Sensor

Your skin naturally has different oxygen levels at different depths. One important marker, called Hypoxia Inducible Factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α), helps scientists understand how much oxygen is available in the skin. When oxygen levels increase, this marker goes down.
 
AO2 CLEAR® oxygen nanobubbles were applied to the skin, and biopsies were collected before treatment and again at 30 and 60 minutes following application.

Oxygen Actually Reaches The Epidermis and Dermis

The study measured HIF-1α, a biomarker that rises when skin is low on oxygen and drops when oxygen improves. After applying AO2 SKIN, HIF-1α decreased significantly; direct biochemical proof that oxygen was delivered into the tissue.

Is AO2 CLEAR safe for everyone?
Yes. AO2 CLEAR is completely safe for all people and all skin types. It’s even safe to use while pregnant, nursing or trying to conceive.
What results can I expect to see on my skin?
With consistent use your skin should be clearer, more hydrated, evenly textured, brighter, and overall healthier and better nourished. You should not experience the drying or irritation that accompanies many traditional acne products like Retin-A.
What side effects are associated with AO2 CLEAR?
Because AO2 CLEAR is made with only oxygen and distilled water, there is no potential for irritation or other adverse reactions with either product.
How often should I use AO2 CLEAR?
We recommend using AO2 CLEAR twice daily after washing and drying your face with a mild cleanser. Each pouch is measured to provide 15 applications, twice daily for a week.
How long before I see results?
If using AO2 CLEAR consistently twice daily, you should start to see improvement within the first two weeks. Because oxygen acts as a natural antibacterial against the specific bacteria that causes acne inflammation the preventative benefits act cumulatively. The longer you use the product, the more benefit you can expect to see clarity, hydration, and even texture.
Do I have to give up my existing skin care routine to use AO2 CLEAR?
Nope! Because both AO2 CLEAR is a unique and hyper clean product they fit right into your existing routine, whether that’s cleanse and go a multi-step regimen. Start with your favorite cleanser, then apply AO2 CLEAR,  and allow the solution to air dry. Make sure your sponge is fully saturated and drippy, it will dry quickly and your face won’t be wet long. After that you can apply whatever creams or serums you like.
Can I use other acne treatments while using AO2 CLEAR?
Because AO2 CLEAR’s hyper clean formula consists of just distilled water and oxygen nanobubbles that clear and hydrate your skin you can use it in conjunction with other treatments. But, many of our study participants and customers found it unnecessary to continue their other treatments because of how effective and gentle AO2 CLEAR is on their skin. For advice on any prescription medication changes, please contact your medical or healthcare provider.
Do you recommend any different usage based on skin type or acne severity?
We find that people with sensitive skin or severe or very inflamed acne should apply using light pressure so as not to irritate your skin with the sponge texture. Those who don’t have sensitive skin and/or have a lot of blackheads and whiteheads can press more firmly for more exfoliation. For your personal medical concerns please seek the advice of your medical or healthcare provider.
How is AO2 CLEAR different from other products that deliver oxygen to the skin?
AO2 CLEAR is the only product to harness nanobubble technology for such an extraordinarily high gradient of oxygen pressure. No other product is as clean and powerful.
How exactly does the nanobubble gradient work?
The transfer of a gas like oxygen from one location to another depends on the difference, or gradient, in concentration between the two locations. If that gradient is significant, oxygen will move from the high-concentration one to the low-concentration one. In our case, the two locations are the skin surface and the skin pores. A good example of an oxygen gradient is hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This treatment is costly, cumbersome, and has the potential for serious side effects. AO2 uses the same principle of an oxygen gradient as hyperbaric therapy, but it’s convenient, low cost, and has no potential side effects.
How do we know what is better between oxygen, hydrogen or ozone?
Oxygen is critical in promoting healthy skin by supporting cell regeneration and collagen production. It helps enhance skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and contributes to a radiant complexion. Additionally, oxygen can assist in healing wounds and combating bacteria, promoting an overall rejuvenated and refreshed skin appearance.

Hydrogen, although it has some antioxidant properties, doesn’t play as central a role in these essential functions for skin. While ozone has some antioxidant and antimicrobial benefits, its use in skincare is debated due to concerns about potential side effects and limited scientific evidence. Oxygen is generally considered safer and more widely accepted for skincare, offering proven advantages without the uncertainties associated with hydrogen and ozone.

I hope you can appreciate the evolution in very real skin! I decided to give AO2 clear a chance because I got pregnant and had to stop doing laser in my face and what was peach fuzz with the hormones became too thick so I couldn’t just ignore it! I had to start epilating but every time I did it I would get a breakout, it was itchy and I started getting hyperpigmentation and scarring. Since I went all natural with pregnancy there was not much I could do until I found this product. It’s been like 3-4 months of using AO2 clear and this is the progress using pretty much only this and moisturizer, I don’t use anything else for the hyperpigmentation. I still get hormonal acne here and there, and to be fair my diet has not been the best but my skin is actually healing! I can epilate as much as I want and I don’t get any new breakouts, it’s not itchy anymore, my skin is less congested in general and my scars are slowly fading. I even got the back and chest hormonal acne under control just passing the pad on those areas after using it on my face. I’m never stopping using this stuff.

    I have been using this for almost 2 years now after seeing it on Instagram and it changed my skin! I was really struggling with hormonal, cystic acne on my chin.
