Our Chief Scientist, Dr. Zvi Yaniv, Ph.D, takes to his lab to develop a gentler and more effective treatment for peripheral neuropathy in his hands and feet. A prolific, globally-recognized inventor with over 300 nanotechnology patents Dr. Yaniv harnesses the power of oxygen and nanobubbles to deliver unprecedented relief directly to the source of his pain—oxygen-starved nerves beneath the skin.
2020
A chance encounter with board certified dermatologist, Valerie Hanft, MD, reveals that pure oxygen has a remarkable clearing effect on acne by killing the anaerobic bacteria that cause acne inflammation inside our pores. The seed is planted to take Dr. Yaniv’s oxygen nanobubbles and develop a better kind of acne treatment.
2021
Dr. Hanft joins the team, inspired by the prospect of offering her patients a less irritating but just as effective acne treatment. The team sets to work testing formulations of oxygen nanobubbles in different topical applications. When pure, distilled water becomes the clear choice a study is undertaken to determine what types of skin, acne, and lifestyles are most positively impacted by the new AO2 Clear treatment.

Study insights and recommendations in hand, AO2 Clear makes its public debut and the ultra clean, side-effect-free revolution begins.
2023
The official launch of AO2 Clear as a widely available skincare product launches February 1, 2023! Overwhelmingly positive customer Feedback propels AO2 with adoption from thousands of consumers and skincare professionals.

We celebrate our first anniversary as a consumer product! We could not have gotten here without the support of our amazing customers as their feedback has only made us better!
2025
AO2 surpasses 75,000 custom orders. We welcomed Vivian Bucay, MD, as our Chief Medical Officer. We officially rebranded as AO2 SKIN to reflect our expanding line of oxygen-based skincare innovations and launched our second breakthrough product, AO2 HYDRATE.
